2010-2011 Women's Team
12 year-old Elite from Elite Champion Gymnastics, Jordan Stavrou, had a great showing at this year's CoverGirl Classic in Chicago, Illinois. Jordan was one of 36 national competitors who competed in the Junior Age division. Congratulations, Jordan! We are very proud of you!

Level 10 Team- Austin Epperson, Johann Handser, Meyer Williams and Josh Wilson
Congratulations to our level 10's who came away with the Texas Team State Championship! Also, Josh Wilson won the high bar and all-around titles in the senior division, and Meyer Williams placed second on floor and tied for second in all-around in the junior division.
Level 7 Drew Sikora won an individual event title on the parallel bars and placed second in all-around in the 12-13 year old division.
Level 6 team placed an impressive 4th place in a highly competitive field of 12 teams.
The mens team qualified all 13 of their athletes to the Regional Championship on April 1-3rd in Austin.
Great job, guys, and good luck at Regionals!

Elite Champion's team girls treated the residents of Waterford Retirement Center to a tumbling exhibition and Valentine goodies. It was a wonderful time of fellowship for everyone involved! The residents loved the demonstration and appreciated our visit. And the girls enjoyed performing for a very captive audience! We hope this will be the first of many visits to Waterford. Thank you to all the parents who helped with the craft and driving and to the gymnasts who participated in this event.
The girls competed in their second meet of the season over the weekend. In spite of the weather, all participants made it to Houston safely. Congratulations to the level 8 team for winning the Small Team Title!
Other meet highlights: Level 7- Sierra Black won vault, bars, floor and all-around and placed third on beam. Rachel Neal placed third on vault and fifth on floor. Level 8- Kaitlin De Guzman placed first on beam, third on vault and floor and second all-around. Max Mitchell won beam and placed fifth on floor and all-around. Lauren Chennault placed second on bars.

The optional guys team opened their season at the Blackjack Invitational this weekend. The JO competition coincided with the Winter Cup, which decides the US National Team. Strong individual performances by Level 10's, Meyer Williams, who placed second on parallel bars and third on vault and Josh Wilson, who placed second on high bar and third on vault. Both gymnasts placed fourth all-around in their respective age groups.

Level 5's and 6's at the 'Girls Rock the House' District Qualifier 2010
The Level 5's ended their spectacular 2010 season with an impressive win at last weekend's State Championship in Houston! Several girls won all-around and event titles in their respective age groups and achieved their highest scores of the season! Undoubtedly, Texas is one of the most competitive states in the country (if not the most) so winning here is an outstanding achievement! We are so proud of all our gymnasts! They are deeply committed to their goals and have coaches who help them set and achieve those goals on a daily basis.
We believe that inspiring young athletes with positive and constructive reinforcement results in more successful performances and happier kids! And it's working! Great job, everyone!

We are proud to announce the addition of Tammy to our Women's Artistic Team Staff. Tammy has been with us for for six weeks and has already made significant contributions to our program. Along with being a full-time coach, Tammy is wife to Larry and dedicated mother to two budding gymnasts, Katelyn and Mikey. Tammy comes to us with several years of coaching experience, as well as her own decorated gymnastics career. Tammy was a member of the Philippines National Team and competed up til two years ago. Her passion for gymnastics and bubbly personality are contagious to anyone who is around her and her valuable knowledge and experience makes her a vital part of our coaching staff.
Welcome, Tammy! We are so happy to have you a part of our Elite Champion family!
Elite Champion strongly believes in giving back to the community. Our students and families have participated in park clean-up projects, volunteered and demonstrated gymnastics at community events, collected coats for the Salvation Army, and donated Christmas gifts to the Adopt-a-Family program here in Plano.

Elite Champion's Level 6 Team- Liah Bosworth, Reagan Hughes and Caroline Mikita
Congratulations to Liah Bosworth, Caroline Mikita and Reagan Hughes who all competed November 20th at the TX Level 6 State Championships in Austin. Liah Bosworth was crowned the Level 6 State All-Around Champion, Caroline Mikita finished third and Reagan Hughes placed fourth. Their goal as a team was to each go '4 for 4.' Mission accomplished! Outstanding job, girls!
Three Level 6 gymnasts competed in the North State Championships on Saturday, October 30th. Complete meet results are posted on the left. Congrats to Caroline, Reagan and Liah! All three girls qualified for the Texas State Meet held on November 20-21st.

Congratulations to the Level 4 team girls who came away with the team title, as well as most event and all-around gold and silver medals!
Jordan Hoelscher competed Saturday and placed first on beam and floor, scoring 9.675, and 9.85, respectively. She placed second on vault and bars, scoring 9.80 and 9.70, respectively. Jordan won the All-Around title with 39.025.
Teammate, Cassidy Hyman competed Sunday morning in her age division. She came away with three event titles, on vault (9.725), bars (9.90) and beam (9.70). Cassidy also placed fourth on floor scoring a 9.70. She won the All-Around title, matching Jordan's score of 39.025.
The third Level 4 for Elite Champion is Madison Tyrcha. She competed Sunday afternoon earning gold medals on vault (9.80), floor (9.80) and bars (9.70) and also earned a silver medal beam (9.575). Madison made it a sweep with All-Around titles for Elite Champion, scoring a 38.875.
The team total score for the three gymnasts was 116.925. That is an average of 9.75! Congratulations to our Level 4 Champions and to our coaches, Marcus Harlin, Debbie Bonds and Tammy De Guzman!
Congratulations to the Level 4 and 6 girls who competed at the District Championships last weekend. Elite Champion once again demonstrated high quality gymnastics from all their athletes!
The Level 4 Team captured another District Championship title. With only three gymnasts competing, all twelve of their scores counted toward the 'small team' total. Not only did they do well as a team, all three girls won (or tied) for the Individual All-Around Title in their respective age groups, along with several event titles! Outstanding performance, girls!
The Level 6 team also competed well. Despite being without three of their top scorers (who are now training for the Level 7 season this winter) finished a strong second in a very tough division- again, with only three level 6 teammates! Congratulations to Caroline Mikita, for being the Level 6 Districts Vault Champion!

The first meet of the season showed the strength and depth of Elite Champion's Level 4-6's this weekend. The Level 4 Team won the Small Team Title, and the Level 5 and 6 Teams captured the Large Team titles at the "Girlz...Rock the House" District Qualifier held at Eagle's Wings in Allen, Texas.

Congratulations to all of our Level 4-10 girls who were listed (multiple times) on the country's "Top 100 Scores" list for the 2009 season! Lists include best All-around and Event scores during any USAG sanctioned meet. You all should be very proud of your fantastic and consistent achievements this season!
Congratulations to Mary Rossi, who earned her spot on the US Junior National Tumbling and Trampoline Team at the VISA Championships this month. We wish her well this year as she is sent to various national and international competitions on behalf of our country! Mary placed fourth in the country in the Double Mini Event at Visa's.
Trampoline and Tumbling team members, Katie Krenek and Mary Rossi, will be competing on the Double Mini (trampoline) event at the US Championships- being held in Hartford, Connecticut on August 10-14. NBC Sports and Universalsports.com are covering the event live via television and webcast. GOOD LUCK, KATIE AND MARY!

Three gymnasts reached the podium at nationals which was held in Virginia Beach on June27-July 2. As a team, ECG placed in the top 10 in 13 events! Junior Elite, Katie Krenek qualified for the US VISA Championships which will be held in August in Hartford, Connecticut. Fantastic job, girls! (Full ECG results are posted in 'Meet Results.')
Senior Sarie Morrison, future LSU Tiger gymnast, made it official last Wednesday on "Signing Day." On Friday night, Sarie celebrated her scholarship with a ceremonial 'signing party' at ECG. We look forward to watching Sarie compete in her last club season with ECG and wish her great success at college! We are very proud of everything you have accomplished, Sarie!

Another exciting weekend, as ECG is crowned 2009 Level 5 Team District Champions! The girls continue to shine this season with beautiful routines. ECG gymnasts collected a total of 9 Gold, 7 Silver and 6 Bronze individual awards and had 5 gymnasts earn over a 38.0+ All-Around score.
Thank you to Marcus and Jana Harlin and Mandy Glucroft , who have prepared these girls so well to not only execute flawless skills, but to believe in themselves and have the confidence to perform up to their ability in competitions! Keep shooting for the stars, girls!!!!
